His experience on stage starts with theatre and dance. He started working at the very young age of 24 with the mise-en-scène of Mozart "Così fan tutte".

He has been active as a stage director in state theatres and festivals in Italy and abroad, with a repertoire that goes from the 18th to the 20th century, giving a particular attention to the modern staging of operas out of the standard repertoire, wherein he emphasizes the relation of gesture, word and voice.
