Valerio Paperi
Born in Rome he graduated at the Santa Cecilia
Conservatory in Voice Didactics; Voice, with
M° T. Pediconi, and G. Favaretto; composition
with A. De Ninno and I. Ravinale; conducting
with F. Ferrara. Subsequently post graduate
courses in Voice and Orchestra Conducting at
the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, being awarded
with Merit Diploma.
For many years active both as Conductor and Voice
Teacher. Invited to perform symphonic and opera
repertoire by italian and european opera houses
and concert halls ; also recording for radio and
the four orchestras of the national Radio and Television
(RAI). In Pesaro he conducted the Teresa Berganza
concert honouring the 180th anniversary of Rossini’s
birth.
From 1978 to 2004 Voice Teacher at the Santa Cecilia
Conservatory in Rome and for 16 years coordinator of
its Voice Department.
Holds Masterclasses in Italy and abroad: at the SHOWA
Academia Musicae invited by Tosei Gakuen University
of Music at Tokyo; in 2004 a the swiss Neuchatel
Conservatory; in 2005 and 2006 two courses in two
universities and accademies in Taiwan – the latter at
the Academy of the Taipei National University of Arts;
in 2007 invited at the Roosevelt University of Chicago
and the Shanghai Opera House; in 2008 at the same House
for the Otello of G. Verdi production.
Vocal advisor in two editions of the Maria Callas International
Competitionof italian state Radio and Television Channel (RAI).
Member of several international juries together with G. Simionato,
G. Becchi, L. Gencer, G. Bergonzi, A. Protti, G. Raimondi, M.Olivero,
