Born in Ancona descends from a venetian musician family. Started his piano studies with his mother and violin with his uncle, Giorgio Senigaglia, obtains his diplomas in piano with Carlo Zecchi, violin with …Principe and Composition with G. Petrassi at the Conservatorio S. Cecilia in Rome.

His professional carrer, first as a violinist and composer – SIMC awards the II prize to his quartet in 1952 and the Fantasia per Orchestra (1956) for the Contemporary Music Festival in Venice- then as a conductor, since 1954, sees M.tro Pradella in an unceasing activity, be it in symphonic as opera repertoire, in Europe, America and Asia.

From 1959-1990 head conductor of the RAI Symphony Orchestra of Torino, the Orchestra Scarlatti of Naples, Orchestra of Rome. In Europe he has conducted the BBC, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Hessischer Rundfunk, Westdeutscher Rundfunk, ORTF in Paris and Strassburg and the Suisse Romande orchestras.
Other than traditional repertoire, he has given wide space to contemporary composers.

The yearly study program is mainly set upon symphonic and opera literature. Relevant extracts of orchestral music will be selected by the teacher. Participants may also propose to focus on a specific repertoire and/or particular conducting tasks.

Intention
The course aims to guide students in order to promote, develop and enhance their individual conducting qualities:
Score Analysis
style, structure, interpretation
Gesture Analysis
dynamic relationship
the orchestra and the soloists (singers and instrumental performers)
Practice and Development of Professional and Individual Skills
related to different working events: symphonic orchestra and chamber ensembles,
opera conductor and co-repetitor

Study Plan
8 seminars per year – three days each- 3 afternoons, 2 mornings, as a rule from thursday to saturday. Dates are scheduled and notified in advance. Each seminar provides sessions of score analysis and reading, orchestra section and/or orchestra rehearsals, eventually with singers and instrumental soloists.

Absences
properly documented and presented in time, may be recovered on dates agreed upon with the teacher.
